Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:

Lead the F&A team on accounting operations, including but not limited to account management, reconciliations, Adaptive Planning, year-end, and other tasks. Support the Assistant Dean with data analytics on tuition revenue, what-if scenarios, and cost allocations of all programs. Administer budgets for up to 10 departments. Analyze expenditure and revenue areas; identify problem areas and recommend changes to assigned departments.

Assume lead role in the working budget process; enter data into the Adaptive Planning system; compile and reconcile reports; make recommendations. Assume lead in year-end closing process; work with the University’s Finance Office to provide accruals, deferrals, and prepaid expenses. Assume lead in gift and endowment account management. Take the lead on working with H/R & Payroll and the Dean’s Office on updating the summer research/summer pay spreadsheet. Continually seek ways to improve processes, make data accessible, support strategic decisions, and help the Assistant Dean pursue the objectives of the College and University.

Licenses/ Certifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Ten (10) years of professional accounting or finance experience. Five (5) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.
Knowledge of finance functions including general accounting, statistical, or financial functions.
Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in data analytics and negotiation.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Ability to research information and analyze complex data and information to create reports and presentations.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.
