This role is part of a larger transition and is planned as part of a separate team being created in Kraków.
Role Summary
As a Lead Engineer, you will own complex Data & Analytics solutions end-to-end—from shaping the initial strategy with enterprise customers to hands-on execution.
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, translating business hurdles into scalable technical solutions. You will balance technical leadership and mentorship with hands-on development, writing production code and driving engineering excellence. This position offers high autonomy and is designed for a leader ready to track directly into a Principal Engineer role.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Solution Ownership: Partner directly with enterprise clients to discover business needs, design scalable Data & Analytics solutions, and build long-term technical trust.
Hands-on Leadership: Own technical design and architectural decisions. Lead the development of critical system components and write production-quality code.
Engineering Excellence: Set high standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability. Mentor delivery engineers and review their work to ensure top-tier performance.
Delivery & Integration: Oversee end-to-end implementation, data migration, and system enhancements, ensuring everything aligns with platform capabilities and timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and SRE teams to remove blockers and champion engineering best practices.
Required Experience & Skills
Core Development: Strong hands-on Java backend experience, paired with good knowledge of Python for data and automation.
Architecture: Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD).
Data & Messaging: Robust experience with data platforms, streaming/event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), and solid SQL skills (Relational and NoSQL).
Integrations: Proven track record of building and consuming RESTful APIs for mission-critical, high-availability enterprise systems.
Lead-to-Principal Expectations
Independently manages complex systems and critical components under minimal oversight.
Comfortable navigating high-pressure, customer-critical environments.
Leads through technical authority, execution excellence, and active mentorship.
Demonstrates the strategic vision and technical depth required to quickly evolve into a Principal Engineer.
