You’ll be paid during the training period, and upon successful completion, you may be offered a full-time role in one of our Engineering such as Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Technical Support.

Our Pune NextGen Academy kicks off in June 2026. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity at our Pune development center. 

What You’ll Do: 

As a NextGen Academy trainee, you will:

Participate in a paid, full-time training program focussed on software engineering, operating systems, quality assurance and enterprise technologies. 

Learn core programming languages and tools used in large-scale software systems. 

Work on individual and team assignments to solve real-world business problems. 

Collaborate with teammates across departments and global locations. 

Receive ongoing mentorship, feedback, and learning opportunities throughout the 6-month program. 

What We’re Looking For:

Required: 

A B.E / B. Tech - Computer Science, IT degree, or a related field.



Recent university graduates or coding enthusiasts.



Strong evidence of coding experience - academic, personal, or commercial.

Proficiency in Java or Python programming languages.

Passionate about coding and/testing, as evident by previous participation in internships, bootcamps, academic work, personal projects, or open-source contributions (e.g., coding at home, building apps, contributing to GitHub).

Curiosity, self-motivation, and eagerness to learn about systems, networks, and software engineering. 

A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.

Nice to Have: 

Basic knowledge of AI or Machine Learning..

Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

Exposure of Windows, Unix, Linux, or z/OS environments. 

Awareness of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learns and understands hardware and software systems and platforms
  • Provides software development support
  • Writes code for portions of an application
  • Works closely with and learns from the engineering team
  • Applies techniques and methods learned in prior courses
  • Assists in carrying out tasks requiring adherence to prescribed methods of design
  • Should learn basic programming while working in a team
  • Uses current programming languages and technologies to write code
  • Learns to work within a team
  • Team oriented, collaborative, accountable, and dependable
  • Responds to learning suggestions and feedback positively
  • Open to coaching
  • Should learn how to document and communicate on technical topics
  • Learn about mainframe and how it connects with who Rocket is
  • Learn about foundation of the markets Rocket serves

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimal professional software engineering experience
  • Strong desire to program software in the real world
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Can-do attitude
  • Curious and asks "why"

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information technology or related field
