Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

About Team: 
Sam’s club is a membership-based retail warehouse club owned and operated by Walmart.  With more than 600 physical clubs across different geographic region in US, Sam’s Club chain serves more than 50 million US members and is rated among the top retailers in US. 

What you'll do:

  • You love typescript, don’t like using ANY and prefer using complex TYPES
  • Software development by providing engineering patterns to deliver the optimal product, including implementing design patterns. Work closely with peers and senior engineers/architects.
  • Partner with Architects, product owners and business SMEs to analyses the business need and provide a supportable and sustainable engineered solution. Ensure that the overall technical solution is aligned with the business needs.
  • Drive the creation and modifications of the product portfolio components, identify, and engage all technical resources necessary to contribute to the solution ensure the solution is consistent with Walmart architecture, design and development standards.
  • Experiment: This is a startup-like environment so everything can change as we experiment with new ideas.
  • Hack, extend and improve open-source tools/framework.
  • Develop applications using industry best practices. Adjust adopt new methodologies that provide the business with increased flexibility and agility.
  • Stay current with latest development tools, technology ideas, patterns and methodologies, share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

  • Excellent proficiency in backend Javascript technologies technologies (NodeJS/TypeScript/JavaScript)
  • Working knowledge of GraphQL, mutations, resolvers, Apollo client, Apollo server etc. is mandatory
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/React JS and related UI frameworks
  • Measure and resolve performance bottlenecks in JS/TS backend using modern tools.
  • 6-10 years of experience in software development using modern languages (with NodeJS, Javascript, Typescript etc)
  • Thorough understanding of NodeJS and its core principles.
  • Own code quality and experience in writing extensive unit tests.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
  • Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Awareness of cloud platforms like GCP
