Job Description:

Manager of Vendor and Buyer Engagement

The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career. 

As the Manager of Vendor and Buyer Engagement you are the front-line engagement and liaison between the merchants, vendors and logistics operations group to ensure goods move through the supply chain timely and most cost efficient from vendor to stores. Accountable for creating and implementing business enablement strategies that support the TJX off-price model of delivering value to our customers. 

  

Responsibilities: 

Manages and directs one or more of the following areas including: 

MVL Logistics Consulting and Triage 

  • Both internal and external consulting on how to structure a buy to move goods through the supply chain in the most timely and cost-effective manner to support sales 
  • Assisting in taking merchandise concepts and initiatives through fruition 

POE Management 

  • Manage all aspects of POE up until the point that goods are “available” at the destination port including PO writing and compliance, vendor and buyer management and compliance, liaison with decon providers, forecasting and tracking, KPIs/performance.  

Merchandise Flow Management 

  • Proactively partners with logistics operations groups to understand what operational impacts freight moving through the supply has on PO lead times 
  • Monitors and manages communication on all delays, priorities and expedites surrounding flow of merchandise through the supply chain to groups including buying, planning, GBOs, product dev. 
  • Develop and communicate all calendars and lead-time cutoffs out to concerning parties and monitors POs for exceptions 

Vendor Centric Ticketing 

  • Manages all aspects of pre-ticketing programs in all divisions with the exception of the European division 
  • Develop, collaborate and implement ticketing short term and long-term strategies to support TJX growth and business needs 
  • Responsible for selecting and implementing new providers 
  • Work closely with 3PL providers to develop innovations and enhancements that benefit our vendors for the ease of doing business with TJX 
  • Provide technical training to merch ops 
  • Responsible for all aspects ticket bureau on-boarding 
  • Establish KPIs and regularly analyze data 

Develops and Implements Training and Education 

  • Vendor engagement and onboarding to all TJX Logistics practices including how to effectively and efficiently move goods through the TJX network and TJX’s requirements on value added services including ticketing, labeling, packing 
  • Merchant/Merch Ops training and education including training including topics such as PO writing, Inco terms /freight movement, how to research where my goods are, ELCs, lead times, ticketing, and store ready 
  • Distribution Services training including Store Ready, vendor compliance 
  • GBO/satellite office training including topics such as PO writing, Inco terms/freight movement, ELCs, lead times, EDI, ticketing, and store ready, on-boarding to logistics and warehouse education 
  • Logistics Training, including off-price education, deal management, vendor structure, roles of our business partners 
  • Product Development training including topics such as PO writing, Inco terms/freight movement, ELCs, lead times, EDI, ticketing, and store ready, on-boarding to logistics and warehouse education 

Manages Compliance of all aspects of Logistics related to vendors, buyers, and ticketing providers 

  • Partner with areas to understand the compliance issues as it relates to both the transportation of and adherence to PO requirements. Create holistic full picture of a vendor’s compliance from all aspects of supply chain 
  • Directs the research and troubleshooting of possible causes and involvement 
  • Analyze data to identify trends 
  • Create and execute action plans with ticketing bureaus for improvement 
  • Report progress and improvement 
  • Research industry performance, standards and benchmarks to analyze vendor performance 
  • Conducts high level business conversations with merchandise vendor’s heads of sales and operations and developments compliance improvement plans 

Staff Development 

  • Manages, coaches, and mentors direct reports and develops them for future growth within the function and organization  
  • Oversees performance and professional development of associates with the Business Enablement group 

  

Who We Are Looking For: You. 

  •  3+ years experience in merchandise buying, planning and allocation, merchandise operations with a strong understanding of off-price buying and vendor management

This position has a starting salary range of $113,600.00 to $147,700.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
