Role Overview
Avero is seeking a hands-on Backend Team Lead to guide the modernization of our platform and lead the transition from legacy systems to cloud-native applications. This role is a player/coach position — you’ll spend part of your time writing code, building migration solutions, and reviewing designs, while also setting architectural direction, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with leadership. 

You will initially lead a small architecture team (yourself plus one engineer) with the opportunity to grow the team over time as our modernization efforts expand. This is a chance to be both a builder and a leader, shaping the next generation of Avero’s platform. 

This is a 100% remote position reporting to Avero’s Vice President of Engineering.

For Colorado* based candidates - The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in Colorado is between $150,000 and $160,000. Final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise. We also offer a full robust benefits package. Because Avero's base compensation is driven by location, we will be happy to discuss a salary range for other locations during the interview process.
