As part of CBA’s Business Banking division, Small Business Banking offers both in-branch and remote support to small businesses nationwide. We build strong relationships with our customers and communities through deep engagement, a compelling value proposition, and outstanding execution.

We’re seeking an experienced Business Banker to join our high-performing team based in Melbourne CBD.
 

Supporting customers across Victoria and Tasmania, you'll work closely with a range of referral partners including brokers, Premier Banking, CBA Branches and Commercial Banking teams to help customers access the right banking and lending solutions.
 

In this role, you'll build strong customer relationships, understand each customer's unique goals and challenges, and provide end-to-end support across their banking needs. You'll combine your commercial acumen with a customer-first mindset to identify opportunities, deliver tailored solutions and help small businesses grow with the backing of CommBank's products, services and expertise.

More specifically, you will:

• Engaging in meaningful customer conversations to uncover goals and deliver timely, relevant financial solutions—including commercial lending up to $1.5M, asset finance, merchant services, and everyday banking.
• Proactively engage customers to support their business and personal goals
• Representing CBA as a brand ambassador in the local business community, including hosting educational events to promote financial wellbeing
• Attending stakeholder meetings to raise awareness of Small Business Banking services and foster referral partnerships.
   

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Proven experience in Small Business Lending, Commercial Lending or B2B sales
• Strong Business Development Skills and commercial acumen
• Excellent customer engagement abilities, both in-person and remotely
• A track record of managing customer pipelines and delivering proactive service
• A genuine passion for supporting Small Business customers—or firsthand experience running one.
• FSRA Tier 2 Accreditation and Credit Approval Authority (CAA) Level 2, or a willingness to obtain these within 6 months
