JOB SUMMARY

Job Profile Summary
Perform various labor tasks associated with maintenance and construction of a steel pipeline system. Including but not limited to: driving commercial vehicles, operating equipment, and damage prevention. Includes certain administrative functions associated with this position. Physical demands include: walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and wearing personal protective equipment. Working conditions include frequently working outside with occasional exposure to extreme heat and/or cold. Potential Travel requirements 26-75%
 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Providing labor and/or inspection support on various pipeline & facility maintenance projects.

  • Perform Damage Prevention activities including but not limited to line locating & ROW (Right of Way) Marking.

  • Provide assistance to other crew members, welders, or technicians as needed.

  • Adapt to constantly changing tasks and assignments in a variety of environmental conditions.

  • Operate medium-weight duty to full-sized trucks; load and unload materials; operate boom, winch, vacuum trailer, and other truck auxiliary equipment.

  • Demonstrate ability to accurately and safely complete tasks according to the Company Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan and System Integrity Plan (SIP).

  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

Education

  • H.S. Diploma

  • Associate's Degree

  • Develop a working knowledge of the company's pipeline procedures regarding pipeline operations and maintenance within 120 days. Must be qualified in specific tasks according to the Company's Operator Qualification (OQ) Plan.

Work Experience

  • 1 - 2 years related work experience preferred

  • Ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing in English

  • Ability to: work under time pressure, tight deadlines and interruptions

  • Ability to: use a personal computer with the Windows® operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive e-mail, and access information posted on the Company’s intranet

  • Ability to: operate a multi-line phone system.

  • Ability to: compile and/or examine information and select the best action from defined alternatives

  • Ability to: organize and/or analyze information and identify solutions from a range of alternatives

Licenses and Certifications

  • Department of Transportation CDL license with HazMat endorsement regarding truck drivers within 60 days after reporting into the job. required
