The Pharmacy Technician – Care Representative provides essential support for patients receiving specialty infusion therapies in the home, hospice or apartment setting and offers an opportunity to learn a unique and patient-facing aspect of pharmacy operations. This caregiver verifies medications and all required supplies, reviews supply needs with patients and coordinates the most appropriate delivery day and time. The role includes ensuring infusion pumps are properly programmed when needed and coordinating pump pickup when therapy is discontinued. A significant portion of the day is spent communicating with patients by phone while supporting therapies such as TPN, antibiotics and specialty pain medications. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing safe, accurate care, is comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and proactively assists team members when their work is complete.
A caregiver in this position will work on-site from 9:30am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a Saturday rotation every 6–7 weeks from 8:30am to 5:00pm. On-call responsibilities also occur every 6–7 weeks and include carrying the on-call phone for the full week.
