Pay Range:
$33.22 - $42.22/hr.
Work Schedule:
Maintenance works on Continental Schedule 2-2-3 (without rotation).
A Shift: 5:15 AM - 5:15 PM
Summary:
To support manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing all facilities and manufacturing equipment in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the maintenance area/shift leader.
Job Responsibilities: (This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed in this position. Associates will be required to follow any other job-related instructions or to perform other job duties requested by their manager.)
1. Troubleshoot and repair problems on plant facilities and production equipment of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic in nature.
2. Troubleshoot tooling issues.
3. Assists in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required.
4. Handle tooling setup, basic operation of equipment
5. Assist in dimensional improvements requiring tooling shim moves to improve part quality.
6. Maintain and update equipment records, shim logs, schematics, blueprints, and files in orderly fashion
7. Obtain and attend training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required.
8. Complete all work in accordance with OSHA, NEC, JIC and DNR standards and regulations
9. Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
10. Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory
11. Handle confidential information on a regular basis
12. To work in a safe, quality minded, and productive manner with a sense of urgency to achieve maintenance deadlines and to attain production priorities as scheduled.
13. Attend daily pre-shift meetings and carry out assigned workloads as directed by shift/area leaders.
14. Communicates with maintenance manager and maintenance area/shift leaders, and other plant personnel about maintenance concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required.
15. Follows and supports LMV Automotive Systems’ and Magna’s operating principles, including:

16. Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.
17. Works with vendors and/or contractors, displaying company values of honesty and integrity.
18. Work with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
19. May be required to adjust shifts as necessary.
20. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: (These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.)
Education and/or Experience:
• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Once job is accepted, schooling is required per MAINT00311- Skill Trades Progression.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as appropriate.
• Knowing of all machines (Lathes, Milling Machines, Grinders, Drill Presses and Saws).
• Setting up parts on machines and basic CNC programming.
• Ability to apply reverse engineering of parts to remake parts
• Perform routine tasks in bench repair, assembly, machinery up-keep, layout, inspection, quality control, welding, drilling, tapping sizing, tooling assembly, fitting parts.
• Ability to troubleshoot dimensional issues
• Ability to use calipers and micrometers effectively
• Proficiency in operating specialized equipment
• Ability to follow complex machining instructions
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements, and business correspondences.
• Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions from various groups.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to obtain and hold a fork truck license.
• Ability to obtain and hold a boom/scissor lift license.
Physical Demands
• Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
• Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
• Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.
