Senior Accountant Financial Reporting


 

What you will be doing:

The Senior Accountant Financial Reporting will report to the Manager, Financial Reporting & Consolidations and is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of quarterly and annual Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) financial reports; monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal purposes; and other regulatory compliance requirements. The Senior Accountant Financial Reporting assists in preparation of financial statements and footnotes for SEC and internal reporting purposes and serves as a contact for auditors. This position will also support special projects, as necessary.

This position requires the development of timely and accurate routine and ad-hoc accounting and financial analysis. This position requires the ability to perform data analysis and raise appropriate questions as data conclusions begin to emerge. This position requires strong business acumen and professionalism to interact with internal and external customers. This position must exercise independence in managing ad hoc projects while exercising good judgment about elevating questions or key issues to management for guidance.

This position requires an ability to balance the demands of multiple deadlines and projects and to adjust priorities and workflow to meet changes or new business initiatives while still achieving recurring demanding deadlines. This position requires preparation of year-end audit work papers, significant involvement with internal and external auditors, and attendance/active participation in regular and ad-hoc Corporate Finance group meetings, including software application upgrade and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

External Reporting – 50%

  • Prepare quarterly financial statements

  • Prepare external reporting packages and supporting schedules, including:

    • Premier, Inc. 10-Q and 10-K financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and other required disclosures

    • Earnings release financial tables

    • Various government reporting

    • Assist in preparation of proxy statement

  • Review XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) tagging of financial statements and footnotes in Workiva WDesk

  • Prepare quarterly equity roll forwards

  • Calculate weighted average shares outstanding to determine earnings per share

  • Assist in other external reporting, as required

Internal Reporting and Monthly Close – 40%

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, calculate non-GAAP earnings and other metrics, and prepare other supplemental financial schedules, as needed

  • Prepare monthly internal reporting packages and financial statement analytics for management and other internal stakeholders

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for consolidations, compensation, and other equity transactions

Other Activities – 10%

  • Interact with internal and external auditors in connection with controls

  • Other, as required

Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more years

Education:

Bachelors (Required)



 

Required Certifications/Licensing

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • Financial Analytics, Financial Statements, Journal Entries, Monthly Close Process, Detail Oriented

Experience:

  • Experience with internal and external financial reporting and monthly close

  • Experience preparing monthly financial statements, calculating non-GAAP earnings and other metrics, and preparing other supplemental financial schedules

  • Experience with Workday and/or Workiva

  • Big 4 public accounting

Education:

  • Masters preferred

Travel Requirements: Travel 1-20% within the US


 

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


 

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $64,000 - $118,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
