TechnologyBMO Global Asset Management Technology team is seeking a Senior Business Consultant to join the Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) Center of Excellence (COE). In this role, you will support and enhance Charles River–driven workflows across Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Data Management and Operations. You will partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Compliance Officers, Operations, Technology and vendor teams to deliver CRIMS enhancements, system integrations, portfolio optimization workflows, and automation solutions that enable scalable and resilient front‑to‑back investment processes.
The role closely liaises with business stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities and recommends solutions to enable the achievement of functional and organizational goals. Builds exceptional relationships with BMO Global Asset Management (GAM), Private Bank and Nesbit Burns business partners and internal stakeholders across respective front- and middle-office teams that employ the Charles River IMS (CRIMS) vendor platform and Bloomberg DL, and other trading/ portfolio management/ market data systems. Analyzes investment management & trading functional processes and data flows that primarily rely on Securities Master File (SMF) data and Investment Book of Record (IBOR) data, and creates documents and plans in service of informing, advising, or updating stakeholders. Ensures the requirements map to a real business need, are approved by all relevant stakeholders, and meet essential quality standards. Work on continuous improvements and enhancements of CRIMS user experience, including data extracts, external data feeds, custom reports and application-related workflows and custom configurations.
Key Responsibilities
CRIMS Delivery & Support
• Design, configure, and deliver CRIMS enhancements, including configuration, integrations, unit testing, deployment, and ongoing production support (when required).
• Configure Manager Workbench / Central Workbench layouts, Blotters, Workflow Rules, and Result sets.
• Ensure Start‑of‑Day (SOD) readiness and maintain ongoing platform stability.
API & Integration Development
• Develop and support solutions using the Charles River API Framework, including:
o Frontend APIs: UI workflows, triggers, and CRIMS interaction points
o Backend APIs: data retrieval, order submissions, reference data, and trading workflows
• Troubleshoot integration issues and support end‑to‑end data and trading flows.
Analysis & Documentation
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
• Produce user stories, workflow diagrams, interface designs, and integration documentation.
• Collaborate across teams to support prioritization, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
