SUMMARY

The Senior Associate, Corporate Development will help to facilitate the company's M&A/corporate development strategy pursuing growth through acquisitions. The Senior Associate will work alongside the Director, Corporate Development and Senior Leadership team in identifying, evaluating, and acquiring the businesses in line with its strategic objectives. The Senior Associate will also lead and conduct other special finance projects/growth initiatives, as applicable, and assist with the integration of each acquisition post-closing, as necessary. The Senior Associate of Corporate Development will report directly to the Director, Corporate Development and will play a critical role in defining and executing the company’s M&A and strategy initiatives.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support all aspects of M&A execution including evaluating opportunities, conducting, and facilitating diligence, liaising with third-party advisors, managing process documents, and assisting in the development of post-closing integration plans.
  • Partners with Head of Corporate Development and leadership team to evaluate M&A opportunities of all sizes.
  • Conduct market, industry, and competitor research to identify acquisition targets.
  • Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding acquisitions, new business investments, and deal modeling.
  • Develop and manage pro forma valuation models and financial models - including identification of synergies, forecasts, and transaction structures.
  • Manage due diligence processes including organizing, reviewing, and analyzing information received.
  • Support integration planning and execution, by coordinating the resources needed to ensure business continuity and integration success.
  • Conduct special projects to analyze complex scenarios and prepare recommendations for senior leadership
  • Prepare and present detailed investment memorandums for investment committee.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of potential M&A opportunities
  • Demonstrate integrity and authenticity as a representative of the company.
  • As needed, play a driving role in various finance initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration)

Work Experience:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions Experience: 3-5 years of M&A experience, ideally with an investment banking, private equity, consulting, or transaction advisory background.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will need to be organized and skilled in prioritizing many initiatives. The ability to pivot quickly as demands change in real-time and the ability to adjust workflows to reflect practical time constraints are key.

  • Analytical Rigor: Analytical, methodical, and rigorous approach; ability to independently take apart complex business issues, perform research and analyses.

  • The ideal candidate has the ability to present complex concepts/ideas in concise, easy-to-understand terms.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with executive-level and cross-functional teams, both verbally and in writing. This candidate will be involved in managing communication with potential acquisition opportunities.

  • Excellent teamwork dynamics are critical. The ideal candidate will show high levels of empathy, strong communication skills and an appetite for feedback. The ability to work both individually and manage/lead team projects and team members across business units, as well as being an honest broker and objective sounding board, is crucial to the success of this individual.
