Job Description:

   

This role sits in our Partner Alliance Team in Japan and is responsible to build and maintain our relationship with our strategic partner NEC.

It covers our business with the HPE Networking product portfolio though our partner NEC, to end customers in Japan and globally.

This is a technical presales role for networking products and solutions, which is switching, routing, WIFI, and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Team with our Alliance Partner Account Managers to build HPE Networking product and solutions business through our alliance partner NEC
  • Create awareness and drive technical preference for HPE Networking products & solutions with our alliance partner NEC
  • Build meaningful relationships with technical decision-makers at our alliance partner to understand business and technical requirements and influence and recommend appropriate solutions relative to the competitive landscape
  • Present HPE’s Networking portfolio of solutions at alliance partner enablement sessions
  • Resolve technical questions from our alliance partner
  • Help our alliance partner pre-sales engineers to respond to tenders
  • Help our alliance partner to build a reference lab for their customers with HPE Networking products and solutions
  • Work with the various HPE Networking internal technical teams and Product Management to help drive product direction and share knowledge

Expectations:

  • You are analytical and able to resolve complex problems
  • Motivated by building business success through competing and winning
  • Have experience and knowledge in IP networking in any of the areas of management, routing, switching and security
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
    • Ability to discuss technical concepts to a variety of audiences
    • Ability to deliver technical sales presentations, white-board technical design sessions, and conduct product demonstrations/seminars
  • Ability to work independently and remotely as well as in a team to accomplish goals
  • Be willing to travel with a flexible attitude to working patterns
  • Fluent Japanese and English speaking skills

Desirable expectations or potential to acquire:

  • Experience in a client facing technical pre-sales role
  • Knowledge of HPE Networks product line and technologies

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a technical field, preferably engineering
  • 5-8 years of experience in pre sales or equivalent
  • Experience working in Japanese market
