Join us as a Global Director of Total Rewards as we work together to bring innovative automation solutions to life. This role reports directly to the Chief Human Resource Officer and will be responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and management of comprehensive total rewards programs. Responsibilities include overseeing compensation, benefits, wellness initiatives, and recognition programs to support the company's goals and boost employee engagement and retention. A deep understanding of market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in total rewards is essential to maintain competitive industry positioning

Location Type:  This role can be a remote or hybrid role, with a strong preference to be located in Michigan with the ability to commute to Holland or Detroit offices.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Provide thought leadership on trends and/or opportunities. Lead the design and continuous improvement of compensation, benefits, and wellness programs. Ensure the total rewards strategy supports top talent's attraction, motivation, and retention.

  • Collaborate and oversees design, implement, and administer competitive compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and executive compensation. Conduct regular market analysis to ensure competitive positioning and internal equity. Develop and manage the annual compensation review process, including merit increases, promotions, and salary adjustments.

  • Lead the design and management of comprehensive benefits programs, including health and wellness, retirement, and other employee benefits. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of benefits programs and make recommendations for enhancements. Manage the open enrollment process, and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, open enrollment, COBRA, FMLA, ESTA and 401(k) plans.

  • Utilize data analytics to monitor the effectiveness of total rewards programs and drive continuous improvement. Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior leadership on total rewards strategies and outcomes. Ensure accurate and timely reporting for regulatory compliance and internal purposes.

  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, HR, Operations and Legal teams to provide support, communication, accurate information related to total rewards practices and programs.

  • Lead and develop a global team responsible for designing and administering the company’s total rewards programs.

  • Ensure total rewards programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations for all locations.

  • Lead efforts to communicate total rewards programs to employees and leaders, ensuring understanding and value recognition of the organization’s compensation and benefits packages.

  • Manage relationships with external compensation and benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants.

  • Assist with administration of equity compensation programs, designing long-term incentive plans and total rewards for talent retention and attraction.

  • Partner with Chief Human Resources Officer and In-House Counsel to ensure all necessary materials are ready and accurate for Board meetings.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in a complex organization building strategy and implementing global total rewards programs at a leadership level.

  • Proven experience of compensation structures, sales compensation, salary survey systems, executive compensation, equity programs and employee benefits administration.

  • In-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Able to leverage data analytics to evaluate compensation effectiveness and provide actionable insights on employee attraction and retention. Able to translate business objectives into rewards strategies that drive employee engagement.

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification is a strong plus.

  • Experience managing corporate payroll team(s) a plus.
