Salary Range:

$131,000.00 - $170,000.00

What’s the role?

The primary focus of the Senior Performance Programs Manager is to drive Etsy's recurring performance programs, which includes: promotions, annual performance reviews, feedback, development check-ins, and talent planning. The role's focus is twofold: Coordinating smooth execution across key functions within the People team, as well as supporting development of new initiatives that enhance Etsy’s performance and talent offerings. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, project management expertise, and strong interpersonal skills; it offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our employees' sense of career advancement and achievement while at Etsy.


This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance & Learning. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Depending on where you are located in the United States, your work mode will be Local Hybrid, Regional Hybrid or Remote. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Driving ongoing performance programs including annual review, development check-ins, Feedback Pulls, 30/60/90 check-ins, talent planning at scale.

  • Overseeing and evolving our performance and growth frameworks including expectations per level, rating scales etc.

  • Developing and driving project plans through collaborating effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and commitment to timelines and deliverables. 

  • Proactively identifying important gaps or risks to meeting the strategic program goals and creating strategies/solutions.

  • Optimizing collaboration between teams to support effective information sharing, execution and decision making workflows. 

  • Developing materials that foster a strong understanding of and easeful participation in programs for all end users, both internal team and employees. 

  • Collecting and translating business requirements to technical requirements for People Systems teams to design solutions for performance programs.

  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of the program’s status throughout its life cycle and driving effective communication to stakeholders regarding program progress, flags and decisions to different audiences.

  • Monitor and assess the impact of the talent programs on offer and use insights to propose improvements that enhance their clarity, efficiency, and enablement of Admins’ equal access to opportunity 

  • Ideating and building upon new and existing programs to enhance Etsy’s performance and talent management offerings and support organizational goals and be best in class.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in project/program management in the HR space (with at least 2 working on similar performance/talent management programs) 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written required. Communication is confident, professional, polished and also warm.

  • Stakeholder management skills, especially with stakeholders composed of both technical and non-technical members.

  • Adept at balancing the near-term detailed view (how and when) with the broader long-term view (why and what), and equally interested in both.

  • Ability to prioritize and drive multiple concurrent projects to success.

  • Ability to maintain order in times of ambiguity and changing priorities.

  • Familiarity and comfort using Google Suite, Slack, performance management software (such as Workday) and project management software (such as Monday.com).

  • Consistent track record of using systems thinking to create new processes or improve existing ones to help teams focus and minimize waste. 

  • Sense of strong accountability and ownership over work 

  • Bonus if you have experience writing employee facing communications, developing learning materials, or telling a compelling story using slides.
