Shipping/Receiving Operator Part-Time

Shift:  You set the days and hours that work for you

*Minimum of 20 hours per week, with a of maximum of 29 hours.

*Time blocks of 4 hours up to 6 hour per shift, Mon-Fri

Pay: $24.87

Location: Acampo, CA

Position Summary:

As a Shipping/Receiving Operator you will support the team by working in the Shipping and Receiving Department.  Our department is responsible for using a Forklift to load and unload inbound and outbound orders. Operate valves and pumps to blend, ship and receive liquid loads to/from tankers in the Tank Farm. Attention to detail is critical in this department to ensure inventory and outbound order accuracy. 

Responsibilities include:

Order picking, order staging, reporting any quality variances, inventory control, housekeeping, utilizing our software to systematically pick/ship orders and help in other departments as needed.  Keeping appropriate records to guarantee tight inventory control and security is maintained as well as assisting in physical inventories is a requirement of this position.  Teamwork, versatility and safety are crucial for success in this role.  You will be monitored by the Logistics Supervisor and Shipping/Receiving Lead to ensure Safety, Quality, Training and Housekeeping requirements are met daily.

Required Experience and Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent 

  • Forklift experience

  • Knowledge of FIFO (First in First Out)

  • Read and write in English 

  • Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills

  • Experience with valves; Basic mechanical knowledge

  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment 

  • Follow instructions for operating equipment and records keeping 

  • Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner 

  • Maintain a clean & safe environment

  • Use of radio frequency equipment as needed

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting, up to 60 pounds

  • Must be able to pass Forklift Certification

  • Adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn pivot

  • Ability to learn all operating equipment and duties

  • Sit for long periods of time while operating Forklift

  • Good sense of balance

  • Good eye-hand-foot coordination

  • Ability to work in a dusty environment

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on season 32-110 degrees

  • Perform daily stretching exercises

  • Noise typical of a production environment: Entire shift/Hearing Protection Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Age: 18 years or older

  • Comprehension: Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and perform basic math.

  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Safety: Ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers at all times without exception

  • Time Management: Showing up on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, and adapting to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision

Time Demands:

  • On occasion, business demands may require some employees to work overtime.

  • When overtime is required, employees are expected to work extra hours as required to meet business needs – this is a requirement of this position.
