About the Position:

Summary
The Maintenance Handyman is primarily responsible for performing all tasks related to facility maintenance such as Repair and paint doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and other parts of the building.

Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Work Type: Full-time Permanent

Location: Mississauga

Shifts:  M to F, 6:30am to 3:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Landscaping (cutting grass, salt walkways, using snow blower, tidy up parking lot and yard, disposing scrap metal and palettes).
  • Vehicles (removing decals, cleaning up rust, painting steps, bumpers, installing license plates).
  • Picking up parts from local dealers and bringing back to shop.
  • Repairing shop equipment and tools (air lines, grease guns).
  • General facility repairs (painting doors, assembling furniture, power washing shop floors)
  • Fuel island (washing trucks, dispensing fuel)
  • Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies.
  • Assist with environmental compliance of the location
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License(Class G2 is a minimum request)
  • Three (3) years or more of related work experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrates customer service skills.
  • Able to understand customer's verbal communication.
  • Understand computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Must be able to read and understand codes and instructions on the computer
  • Must have basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
