The Role
Are you passionate about solving complex application issues and ensuring business-critical systems run smoothly? Kyndryl is looking for a skilled L2 Application Support Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting, optimizing, and modernizing enterprise applications for some of the world's leading organizations.
You will serve as a trusted technical advisor and support expert, helping customers maintain the stability, performance, and availability of their application landscape. You will be responsible for managing and resolving complex incidents, performing root cause analysis, and driving continuous service improvements to enhance the customer experience.
In this role, you will work closely with application owners, end users, development teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to diagnose issues, coordinate resolutions, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). You'll leverage your expertise in SQL, Linux/Unix, APIs, and enterprise applications to troubleshoot technical problems, analyze system behavior, and implement preventive measures that minimize recurring incidents.
You will also play an important role in monitoring the health and performance of applications, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for improvement before they impact business operations. By developing operational documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles, you'll contribute to knowledge sharing and operational excellence across support teams.
Beyond day-to-day support activities, you will have opportunities to participate in application modernization initiatives, cloud adoption projects, DevSecOps transformation efforts, and application deployment activities. Your insights will help customers optimize their application environments while improving reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience
4+ years of Application/System Support experience in enterprise environments.
Strong experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and SLA-driven support operations.
Proficiency in SQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, including log analysis and system troubleshooting.
Understanding of APIs, integrations, and application-to-system dependencies.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure (servers, networks, databases) and monitoring tools.
Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive actions.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and ITIL-based service management skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience supporting ERP/enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, NetSuite, Infor, Unit4, etc.).
Familiarity with application modernization tools and initiatives (e.g., CAST).
Experience working in Agile/SCRUM and DevSecOps environments.
Understanding of application architecture, middleware, integrations, and databases.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud.
Experience with application deployments, releases, and change management.
Ability to support risk assessment, mitigation planning, and remediation activities.
Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
