The Data Engineer / Power BI Analyst provides technical expertise in one or more data and/or analytics tools domains (eg, ETL, Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects BI). The Data Engineer / Power BI Analyst role is a data delivery-centric role held by someone well-versed in one or more areas, such as database technologies, data acquisition, transformation, delivery patterns, and advanced visualization development.  The role’s primary focus is designing and delivering solutions and processes that advance IDEX’s use of data assets to improve and optimize business outcomes. They collaborate with associated teams and local BU resources to drive education and the adoption of reporting and analytics strategies, standards, and best practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develops implementation plans and strategies around data acquisition/aggregation, curation, delivery, and use of data assets.

• Designs, supports and documents data management processes and solutions.

• Designs and develops solutions that allow teams to build scalable, elastic environments and enable the business to visualize beneficial opportunities.

• Collaborates on IT solutions to support Goal Deployment Process (GDP) initiatives.

• Identifies and leverages collaboration opportunities to advance and exploit related business opportunities.

• Ensure Data Accuracy: Validate and implement quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data presented in the dashboards and reports.

• Designing and Developing BI reports and dashboards: Understand business requirements, design the data model, and develop visualizations that provide actional insights. 

• Data Management: Responsible for managing data sets, ensuring they are clean, accurate, and ready for analysis. This often involves data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

• Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet them.

• Training end-users: Train end-users how to use the dashboards and reports effectively. This also includes explaining how to interpret the data and make data-driven decisions.

• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot data-related issues and maintain the SAP BI and Power BI infrastructure to ensure it's up to date and running smoothly.
   

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Certification(s) in data and analytics systems, including, but not limited to: MS SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Platform, Microsoft Power BI.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing growth environment and to work independently.

• Effective project management skills with ability to handle multiple complex projects.

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to self-direct.

• Ability to work well in cross-functional teams.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience interfacing with business stakeholders is a plus.

• Data analytics proficiency.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling techniques.

Education/Experience:

• A bachelor's degree is required; a specialty in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Data Science, or Data Analytics is preferred.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience with data modeling, creating dashboards and reports using Power BI.

• Demonstrated technical expertise in data management (ETL, data quality) technologies and data visualization methods and patterns.

• Experience in designing and implementing solutions across multiple technologies and business applications including, but not limited to: MS SQL Server, SAP BusinessObjects BI, Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Platform.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Python or R and/or data modeling preferred.

• 10-15% Domestic.
