We are looking for a motivated Graduate Engineer Trainee – Technical Support to join our IT team. This is an entry-level role suitable for fresh graduates who want to start their career in IT support, end user computing and system administration.
The trainee will assist with day-to-day IT operations including laptop deployment, hardware troubleshooting, M365 user support, network issues, printer setup, assisting with new user onboarding and providing technical assistance to employees. The Trainee will gain exposure to troubleshooting techniques, customer support processes and IT service management while working closely with experienced support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- End‑User Technical Assistance: Provide first‑level support to employees for hardware, software, and basic network issues.
- Laptop Deployment & Configuration: Assist in imaging, configuring, updating, and distributing laptops for new and existing users. Assist in account creation, device preparation and ensuring new employees have required system access.
- Microsoft 365 User Support: Help with account setup, license assignment, and troubleshooting Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and other M365 services.
- Ticket Monitoring, Asset Management & Documentation:
- Monitor support tickets, update status regularly, and maintain clear and accurate documentation of issues and solutions.
- Track IT assets, maintain inventory records and support periodic audits for hardware and accessories.
- Create and update SOPs, troubleshooting steps, and knowledge articles to improve team efficiency.
- Escalation Handling: Identify issues requiring higher-level expertise and escalate them to senior engineers following defined procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, development, and other teams to ensure IT controls are integrated into the organization's processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 0-1 years of relevant experience in IT operations or System/Support administration role (internships and co-op experience considered).
- Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of IT support concepts and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user management, or ITIL concepts.
- Basic knowledge with Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive) and common office software.
- Exposure to basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, including Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and peripherals (printers, scanners).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (FreshService, ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk) is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals (MS‑900) or similar entry-level security certifications.
