Job Title: Director, Strategic Sourcing

 

The Role

The Director role on Fidelity Procurement’s Strategic Sourcing team leads procurement projects of high complexity, typically supporting multiple business groups across the enterprise. This position partners with business leaders to strengthen Fidelity’s ability to secure the right products at the right price and contractual terms. The role, while primarily focused on technology, involves working across diverse business segments including digital assets, marketing, financial services, and consulting services while driving scale and efficiency for Fidelity.

  • Strategizing with business and technology leaders to develop vendor and product strategies.
  • Leading sourcing efforts, including negotiating commercial and contract terms for each project.
  • Coordinating with risk-based teams to ensure supplier contracts mitigate risk.
  • Driving outstanding pricing outcomes with suppliers.
  • Educating and enforcing procurement and risk policies consistently.

 

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or 5–8 years of equivalent experience in Procurement.
  • Background in sourcing, contracting, procurement operations and/or related vendor/product management.
  • Experience evaluating, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams through procurement projects.
  • Strong risk assessment skills and ability to translate requirements into viable business solutions.
  • Proficiency in business analytics, developing business cases, and presenting recommendations to decision-makers.
  • Experience engaging with leaders at all levels, from front-line teams to the C-Suite.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and processes.
  • Commitment to data stewardship and ensuring data integrity.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong process orientation with demonstrated continuous improvement skills.
  • Supplier relationship management skills, with a constructive approach to demanding performance.

The Team

You will join Fidelity’s Strategic Sourcing team within Procurement, a group dedicated to delivering value through effective vendor management and sourcing strategies. The team collaborates closely with business units and risk partners to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and compliance across the enterprise.
