Central Ohio Urology Group is seeking an experienced Oncology Advanced Practice Provider to lead care within our Advanced Prostate Cancer (APC) Clinic.

This is a high-impact, clinic-based role designed for an APP with meaningful oncology experience; someone who is confident in managing complex disease, navigating advanced therapeutics, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

If you’re seeking autonomy, clinical and intellectual rigor, and a seat at the table in shaping advanced prostate cancer care, keep reading.

Position Requirements - What You Need to Know Before Applying

This opportunity is intended for experienced Advanced Practice Providers. New graduate PAs will not be considered for this specific role. Newer NPs may be considered if they bring substantial, recent oncology experience.

What You’ll Do

The Oncology Lead APP serves as a key clinical partner to the Director of Oncology. They see and treat patients with advanced prostate cancer while contributing to program development, quality initiatives, and oncology education efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care for Advanced Prostate Cancer (APC) patients

  • Prescribe and manage advanced therapeutics

  • Conduct peer-to-peer reviews for PSMA PET imaging and APC medications

  • Collaborate with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and nurse navigation

  • Screen patients for advanced therapies and clinical trial eligibility

  • Conduct chart audits and support quality initiatives

  • Determine appropriateness of APC referrals

  • Develop and deliver educational content for APC Navigators and urology colleagues

  • Attend monthly tumor boards and quarterly business reviews (KPI and operational discussions)

  • Participate in quarterly oncology journal clubs or educational events

  • Attend at least one annual conference focused on urologic oncology

Additionally, the Oncology Lead APP is required to exercise strong clinical judgment, knowing when to move efficiently through routine visits and when to slow down when the complexity of the disease demands time, nuance, and collaboration.

This role also requires ongoing independent study and clinical curiosity, including evaluation of emerging therapeutics, biosimilars, molecular imaging modalities, germline/somatic testing, and prognostic biomarkers.

We’re looking for someone who can see beyond the sales pitch and understand the science.

What You Bring

The Oncology Lead APP thrives in environments where clinical depth and emotional intelligence matter equally. They must be experienced and comfortable:

  • Delivering complex and life-altering information with clarity and empathy

  • Discussing difficult topics, including progression of disease and hospice care

  • Practicing patient-centered decision-making without personal bias

  • Making independent clinical decisions while recognizing when collaboration is required

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program

  • Board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

  • Licensed or eligible for Ohio licensure

  • Minimum of two years of NP or PA experience

  • Prior oncology experience required

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience treating advanced-stage cancer patients

  • Urologic oncology experience (highly desirable)
