The Opportunity

Working closely with our veteran patients, Apollo is looking for a Nurse Practitioner who can periodically work full days in Comox, BC (Full travel covered, including flights) providing assessments for veterans. 

We offer:

Responsibilities  

  • Perform the Assessment: Evaluate the veteran’s physical condition, including the range of motion, strength, and specific pain points. Connect development of pain to trauma sustained during service (when applicable)

  • Document Findings: Record pain levels, any limitations in physical activity, and descriptions of symptoms in detail. Use standardized scales or tools (e.g., Numerical Pain Rating Scale) to measure pain levels consistently.

  • Assess Functional Impact: Note how pain impacts daily activities, mobility, and quality of life.

  • Completion and Submission of Required Forms: Note information on pain type, location, intensity, duration, and any exacerbating or alleviating factors.

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience   

  • Registered with and in good standing with the College of Nurses   

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in English

  • Team-oriented approach with existing team members and physicians 

  • Must be highly organized and have a good sense of time management  

  • Informed and abreast of scientific research and willing to learn more about the industry 

  • Experience in pain management or mental health is an asset
