Role Description
 

Responsible for Client Specific Migration team(s), this role will ensure the team are adhering to the migration strategy, reporting in line with FNZ governance and delivering commitments on time and to quality.  Helping to establish standards and best practices for migration delivery across all FNZ products and technologies.

Key Activities

  • Day-to-day leadership, mentoring and growth of the Canadian migration team

  • Be an active member of the Global delivery and C&M teams, and contribute to setting and executing the strategic plans for all regions

  • Mentoring and coaching Client Specific migration project management team

  • Ensuring delivery of assigned Canadian Client migrations projects to time, quality and budget

  • Supporting the FNZ sales team and project teams in feasibility phases, including estimates and ATLAS workshops

  • Ensuring effective recruitment, development and succession planning across all roles within Migrations

  • Responsible for ensuring assigned Canadian migration projects are delivered within the standard FNZ migration strategy / framework

  • Responsible for reporting on set deliverables and progress across all assigned Canadian migration deliveries.

  • Responsible for driving best practice, ensuring efficiencies in both people and technology are explored and delivered.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Lead the FNZ Migration Strategy

  • Lead the FNZ Migration strategy within assigned Canadian Clients, ensuring this positions FNZ as a market leading provider of Migration Services.

  • Responsible for ensuring the assigned Canadian FNZ Migration teams have the required skills, capability and capacity to deliver on this strategy.

  • Implement a consistent approach for the implementation and governance of Canadian migration projects

  • Provide input in the global continuous improvement initiative, both technical and process related, at pace without adverse impact to implementation work already in flight

  • Bring about sustained and measurable improvement in the performance of Canadian migrations through control, consistency and assurance

  • Build strong relationships with all functional areas within FNZ to support the readiness / implementation impact assessment for any assigned Canadian migration delivery

Project Delivery

  • Develop and continuously maintain a plan that details the delivery of the assigned Canadian migration portfolio covering the agreed scope of migration projects ensuring delivery to time, budget and quality criteria. Inputting into the overall global portfolio plan as appropriate

  • Manage senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring all interested parties have the correct level and frequency of communication and that they feel part of the overall delivery

  • Take accountability for working collaboratively with all FNZ delivery and client teams to agree scope, timelines and artefacts in order to ensure migration delivery in line with overall agreed plan, quality gates and readiness criteria.

  • Responsible for ensuring assigned Canadian migration delivery projects are estimated, planned, managed and reported in line with the FNZ SDLC and PLC.

  • To ensure appropriate governance is in place to manage, monitor and report

  • Responsible for all quality gateway and governance forums required as part of ‘route to live’ governance

  • Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies through the full migration lifecycle. Ensure mitigation plans are in place for all risks and issues, and take ownership for ensuring these plans are executed

  • Responsible for overall quality assurance for migration deliveries, working with the relevant QA SME’s to ensure test planning is in place and executed to the agreed level of quality.

  • To resolve any delivery issues escalated from direct reports and other stakeholders

  • Actively contribute to FNZ design decisions, both at project and strategic level, ensuring impact on migration is detailed and understood to ensure the appropriate design decision is made

  • Work collaboratively with FNZ Sales team, providing assistance with new client due diligence, overviews of the migration process, delivery estimates and migrations expertise where required.

  • Accountable for the overall readiness for migration implementation, resulting in a high quality output with minimal disruption to FNZ Clients, FNZ Operations and End-Platform users

Management of the Migration team

  • Responsible for the line management and the development of capability within the assigned Canadian migration PM team, removing key-man dependencies and developing skills and capabilities within the teams as required to meet the migration strategy plan of FNZ.

  • Support the allocation of members of the team to assigned Customer projects, ensuring appropriately skilled resources are allocated to the correct roles in line with the strategic FNZ priority

  • Responsible for developing the migration team to ensure they influence customer development plans, lead on migration delivery, and reuse platform capabilities where it is appropriate to do so.

  • Ensure a culture of continuous improvement within the team, support process improvement initiatives, and identify new process improvements.

  • Share ideas for improvement across regions, and encourage teams to work collaboratively across regions.

Experience required

Preferred Industry Knowledge

  • Preferable experience in Wealth/Financial Services Platform Migration Events

  • Experience in a consulting, analysis or architecture environment, preferably in a migration setting

  • General investment/wealth/life and pensions products and the markets in which FNZ and our customers operate

  • An understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment

  • 10+ years of experience in a delivery/consulting environment in the Canadian financial services/wealth market

  • Experience working within a business analysis / consulting role

  • Ability to establish a continuous improvement and capability development environment.

  • Confident, and able to take initiative given client– and delivery-focused environment.

  • Fluency in English
