Job Description Summary
The Senior Operations Excellence Manager is responsible for leading continuous improvement, operational performance, and process standardization across offshore wind service operations. This role drives excellence in field execution, safety, reliability, cost efficiency, and service quality by implementing best practices, lean methodologies, and performance management frameworks.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with service operations, site teams, supply chain, engineering, EHS, and commercial functions to optimize service delivery and improve fleet performance across offshore wind assets.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence Leadership
- Lead the operational excellence strategy for offshore wind service activities across multiple sites or regions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, quality, reliability, and cost.
- Establish and sustain standardized processes, operating rhythms, and governance models across service operations.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions to improve execution performance.
Performance Management
- Define, monitor, and report key operational performance indicators such as turbine availability, service productivity, vessel utilization, outage duration, first-time fix rate, and cost-to-serve.
- Use data analytics and operational insights to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Build management dashboards and review cadences to support decision-making and accountability.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring operational issues.
Process Improvement
- Apply lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence tools to improve workflows and eliminate waste.
- Facilitate value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and problem-solving workshops.
- Improve planning, scheduling, materials flow, logistics coordination, and field execution processes.
- Support digital tool adoption and process automation initiatives that enhance service efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with offshore site managers, service directors, engineering teams, and support functions to align operational priorities.
- Work with supply chain and logistics teams to improve parts availability, warehousing, and offshore delivery performance.
- Collaborate with EHS teams to ensure operational improvements reinforce a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
- Support commercial and customer-facing teams by improving service delivery performance and contractual outcomes.
Change Management
- Lead change initiatives tied to process harmonization, systems implementation, and new ways of working.
- Influence senior stakeholders and frontline teams to adopt operational best practices.
- Develop communication and training plans to support sustainable implementation of improvements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational discipline.
Strategic Support
- Contribute to long-term service operations strategy, including scalability, resource optimization, and capability development.
- Benchmark internal performance against industry best practices and identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Support annual operating plans, productivity targets, and transformation roadmaps.
- Provide leadership in special projects related to fleet performance, cost optimization, and operational readiness.
