Job Description:
The P&G Media Effectiveness team is seeking a Manager, Reporting & Insights to help the team deliver routine media reporting projects as well as answer ad hoc tasks through data discovery, exploration and presentation.
Day to day you’ll manage reporting for various P&G brands and use this data to advise other members of the Carat P&G Team on potential plan & buy improvements. A successful candidate will be comfortable pulling and interpreting large amounts of media data to derive both short term tactical optimizations and long-term strategic goals.
The Manager, Analytics will be part of a cross-functional team and is responsible for providing reporting and analytical support to both internal and external clients. The person in this position takes ownership by managing their workload and completing tasks with little structure.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate active participation, show the ability to learn new tools/systems and to apply data analysis to solve problems. This will include being able to identify which source to pull data from for different tasks, as well as explain to other teams the trade-offs and interpretation of such data. The capacity to quickly learn about new data sources and systems is a critical requirement.
Responsibilities
Oversee completion and delivery of numerous reoccurring media reports, including weekly/monthly brand delivery reports, monthly/quarterly investment summaries
Responsible for demonstrating high quality assurance standards to the other junior members of the team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Will require checking data against source of truth systems (ad servers, Nielsen, 1P buying platforms, etc.)
Responsible for various deliverables across the P&G portfolio including monitoring spend on diverse owned media suppliers, calculating value generated by agency efficiency, updating planning tools with latest marketplace inputs and assessing the impact on plans
Completion of these tasks will require pulling, organizing, and formatting of large data sets and understanding their importance to internal/client teams, in order to anticipate questions and additional needs
Support the ownership and optimisationof reporting processes
Learn about and look for opportunities to automate existing reporting processes
Work hand-in-hand with data engineers in developing dashboards and pipelines
Serve as project manager to ensure end-product meets need of intended users
Create benchmark summaries / analyses, both regular and ad hoc, to provide observations to Planning & Investment teams, meant to improve quality of media plans/buys
Serve as internal consultant to peers on cross functional teams in data identification, usage, and analyses
Data Management:
Strong excel skills
Determine data sources and information needs and develop new data source documentation to provide data engineering direction
Ensure data quality by QAing and resolving data discrepancies for reporting
Access and compile large volumes of media, custom and syndicated data from disparate sources into concise and precise information
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure account deliverables are being met
Basic understanding of ETL process and ability to query database
Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science or related quantitative field
2+ years of experience working with either/both media planning and/or investment data
Experience with broadcast and digital channels is a plus
2+ years in a quantitative business environment
Intermediate knowledge of Excel for data compilation, calculation, visualization, and automation
High attention to detail, ability to QA own work and catch errors/opportunities
Clear communication & task management skills
Ability to distill the complexity of one team’s discipline into an easily digestible action plan for another team (e.g. complex media problem into simple to understand data brief / complex data issue into what it means to media planner)
Demonstrable problem solving and critical thinking skills – comfortable interacting with others, asking questions, and handling vague requests
Nice to have but not required:
Experience with adserver systems (GCM, Innovid), Digital Verification platform (Nielsen’s N1, NPower/TV Toolkit, NMI; DoubleVerify/IAS), and Digital Buying Platforms (Programmatic Platforms, Social Platforms)
Experience in data visualization (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Datorama) is a plus
Experience in SQL, Python, or R is a plus
Experience in Measurement (BLS/SLS/MarTech/Search Lift/Closed-Loop/Incrementality/Foot Traffic)
