Job Description Summary

Students in this role fulfil a variety of tasks in support of Career Services and Accessibility Services. Tasks include assisting students with accessing resources and digital platforms; providing coaching and peer support; helping students navigate campus resources; and assisting professional staff with general office duties such as answering phones, making appointments, and welcoming guests who visit the office.

Job Description

Combined Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and take messages for professional staff.
  • Support students with a variety of resources (e.g., Handshake, AIM, etc.).
  • Assist professional staff members with projects.
  • Perform general office duties (e.g., filing, organizing the office space, etc.).
  • Complete on-going training and attend regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Support programming across both offices (e.g., welcoming employers, tabling, event setup, etc.).
  • Provide support in developing and monitoring office social media platforms.
  • Add something related to customer services.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Accessibility Services Responsibilities

  • Complete alternative formatting of textbooks for students with disabilities.
  • Assist with record maintenance in the AIM platform.
  • Provide support with assistive technology platforms.
  • Assist with any initiatives to improve inclusion and accessibility for the university community.
  • Provide direct student support under professional staff supervision.

Career Services Responsibilities

  • Assist with job approvals and user approvals in Handshake.
  • Provide peer support (e.g., resume review, appointment scheduling).
  • Work with professional staff to deliver classroom presentations.
  • Support professional staff with employer partners.
  • Organize and maintain the office's Career Closet.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Be Federal Work Study eligible and accepted.
  • Have experience working with diverse populations.
  • Possess basic computer proficiency.
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Exhibit conduct consistent with the Saint Leo University's core values.

Preferred:

  • Have experience creating and editing social media and marketing materials for businesses, clubs, and organizations.
  • Have experience in providing excellent customer service.
  • Have the ability to work within and across multiple teams.
  • Have the ability to identify student issues and provide appropriate supports and resources.
