Job Description

As part of our laboratory automation R&D team, we are seeking a talented Test Engineer Intern to support the quality assurance and validation of the OptiLab project. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of robotics and software engineering, ensuring the reliability of innovative automation solutions through rigorous testing and technical documentation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Full Lifecycle Participation: Understand and engage in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirement review to deployment.
  • System Testing: Participate in the full testing lifecycle of the OptiLab platform, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Test Design: Independently design and write professional test cases based on system requirements and technical design specifications.
  • Environment Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain testing environments using Linux and Docker containerization technologies.
  • Data Validation: Perform database-related testing, executing SQL queries to verify data integrity and system logic.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automated test scripts utilizing JavaScript to improve testing efficiency.
  • Documentation: Author and manage technical documentation, including test plans, detailed test reports, and bug tracking logs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the development and operations teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve software defects throughout the development cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
  • SDLC Knowledge: Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Linux Proficiency: Strong familiarity with Linux operating systems and basic shell commands.
  • Testing Fundamentals: Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and proven experience in writing structured test cases.
  • Containerization: Proficiency in Docker for environment deployment and management.
  • Database Skills: Familiarity with SQL and experience in testing or managing relational/non-relational databases.
  • Programming Skills: Competence in JavaScript for scripting or automation tasks.
  • Documentation Skills: Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to summarize complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Soft Skills: Fast learning ability, strong problem-solving skills, and a rigorous, results-oriented work attitude.
  • Communication: Good communication skills and a strong sense of teamwork.
