The Rehabilitation Services Assistant works under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist.

This role involves assisting therapists with age-appropriate patient treatments, providing administrative support as needed, and performing general departmental duties within Rehabilitation Services. The position requires adherence to system and departmental policies, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement, customer service, and teamwork.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Assist therapists with age-appropriate patient treatments.

  • Provide additional support during treatment when needed (e.g., "second set of hands").

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment.

  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and functional.

  • Monitor and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.

  • Provide general administrative support to therapists.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards, and code of conduct.

Required Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required.

Experience:

  • Patient-related experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and time management skills.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
