Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of team leads and finance executives to ensure optimal performance and professional development
  • Provide guidance, support and training to team members, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and are equipped to meet departmental goals
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the team, promoting teamwork, innovation and accountability
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous development and address performance gaps

Shared Service Operations Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the finance shared service center, ensuring the efficient processing of finance – related functions, such as Record to Report (General Ledger), Procure to Pay (Account Payable), Booking to Cash (Account Receivable), Interco and Refund.
  • Ensure that all finance processes are compliant with company policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that the team meets operational goals and quality standards.
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required.

Process Improvement and Efficiency

  • Continuously assess existing finance processes to identify opportunities for improvement, automation and streamlining
  • Lead or participate in process optimization projects to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of the finance shared service operations
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance the operational capabilities of the shared service center

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and Balance Sheet Schedules
  • Provide analysis and insights to the Country Finance or the Management on the potential areas of the improvement
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required.

Collaboration with Other Departments

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Country Finance, User Departments, internal SSC teams, to align shared services operations with broader organizational goals
  • Serve as a point of contact for resolving finance related issues
  • Provide support to external auditors and internal stakeholders during the audits and compliance reviews
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure that finance shared services comply with all internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with financial processes to maintain the integrity of financial data and protect against financial discrepancies or fraud
  • Ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and accounting standards

Reporting and Communications

  • Prepare and present reports to the Country Finance and the management on the status of the shared services function, highlighting key achievements, challenges and areas for improvement
  • Regularly communicate updates, changes in process, and performance results to internal stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business administration. Professional certifications (eg ACCA/CIMA/CPA/CMA) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 to 3 years in a managerial or leadership role within a shared services environment.
  • Proven experience managing a team of finance professionals, including team leads and executives
  • Strong knowledge of financial operations, processes and systems in a shared services model
  • High Level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficiency in financial systems (eg Oracle Fusions/SAP), Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets/Suites and process automation tools.
