About the Team

The Finance Transformation team (FTO) owns the modernization and optimization of Workday’s global finance function. At the core of this effort is the Strategy & Operations team - who drive operational excellence through alignment with Finance strategy, the Future of Finance roadmap, and engagement priorities delivering high-impact initiatives that shape how Workday scales and operates. The team blends operational rigor, analytical insight, and clear storytelling to enable effective end-to-end execution.

About the Role

We are seeking a Manager, Operations & Engagement to support the day-to-day operating effectiveness and cultural health of the Finance organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Operations, this role will play a critical part in executing Finance operations, managing OKRs, and driving engagement, communications, and recognition programs.

This role is ideal for a strong operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings structure to complexity, and is passionate about building inclusive, engaged, and high-performing teams. The Manager will partner closely with Finance leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure priorities are clear, progress is visible, and teams feel connected to Finance’s mission and transformation journey.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & OKR Operations

  • Facilitate the definition, tracking, and reporting of Finance OKRs.

  • Partner with Finance leaders to ensure OKRs are clear, measurable, and aligned to strategic priorities.

  • Monitor progress and surface risks, dependencies, and opportunities for course correction.

  • Identify opportunities to automate OKR and reporting workflows, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy.

Finance Operations

  • Support the execution of Finance operating rhythms, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.

  • Coordinate planning, prioritization, and tracking activities across Finance teams.

  • Maintain operating artifacts such as roadmaps, calendars, and status reporting to ensure transparency and alignment.

Engagement and Culture

  • Partner with Communications and HR to drive internal comms, employee engagement, and recognition programs.

  • Own and maintain internal pages and channels for Finance and Finance Tooling (including light HTML and content management).

  • Ensure consistent high-quality messaging that reinforces Finance strategy, priorities, and transformation progress.

About You

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, strategy, or finance transformation roles.

  • Experience supporting enterprise-level planning, OKRs, or portfolio management.

  • Strong understanding of finance organizations and operating models.

  • Experience working with planning, reporting, or OKR platforms (e.g., Workboard or similar tools).

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to translate strategy into execution.

  • Proven ability to manage portfolios, timelines, and dependencies across multiple initiatives.

  • Comfort driving standardization, automation, and process improvement.

  • Clear, concise communication skills and strong executive presence.

  • Ability to balance operational detail with enterprise-level perspective.

  • Passion for enabling change, engagement, and measurable impact.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email
