Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for the Operator Trainer position based in Balikpapan.

The role is Responsible to co-create and deliver product and application training on a regional basis of products, processes and services to the customer. To co-create and support large and modular plants standardized training setups for customers on regional basis for products, processes and services.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

TRAINING

  • Deliver product and application training as part of unit selling to the customer.

  • Ensure product, process and application training material is developed and maintained.

  • Supporting the value-added selling approach of the organization’s strategic direction, structures, and processes.

  • Following training coordination and delivery synchronized with contract, customer requirement and timeline.

  • Increase knowledge and keep updated on the recent development of the Product and Application.

  • This position will include traveling to sites.

  • Ensure standard equipment training needs are covered with standard training solution, quotes, plans.

  • Keeping up to date in relation to competitor product development and competitor product performance.

  • Collect all information related to Sandvik Machine/product & service and providing feedback for product issue.

  • Ensuring that Sandvik product performance levels and specifications meet customer requirements.

PLANNING AND REPORTING

  • Provide comprehensive product and application training report and evaluation.

  • Maintain training planning and reports for customers and support to upskill operator for better service to clients.

  • Plan to have the correct tools and parts needed to perform tasks according to work procedures. (e.g. collect service kits to perform service on machine, book special tools required etc.).

CUSTOMER VALUE ADD

  • Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by giving assistance and training as part of service to clients (according to sales area requirements).

  • Uses knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers and clients.

  • Coaches and train customer operator on standard servicing and operating principles.

COLLABORATION WITH PARTS & SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT DIVISIONS

  • Collaborate with supervisor, operators, and peers as coach and trainer.

  • Can be nominated for factory equipment division training if identified as a high potential.

  • Give feedback based on challenges experienced in the field.

  • Train local equipment division comply with the requirements of Sandvik Product and Application Training.

  • Awareness of new product launches and ready to deliver training for the new product.

  • Understand how business or related KPIs impact in their operational efficiency.

SUPERVISION / ACT AS A COACH

  • Share knowledge to stake holders while working, to build knowledge and skill levels within the product and application territory.

  • Understand the operation of the equipment and explain the functionality of hydraulic and electric systems to stake holders or customers.

  • Assign simple tasks to junior staff, assist, asses, and guide or advise them in how to do them.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Ensure that all work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • More than 6 years in relevant experience or as a product and/or application trainer.

  • Basic to proficient Root Cause Analysis.

  • Has proficient knowledge and proven proficient skills of Sandvik Equipment or equivalent.

  • Proficient skill in English.

  • Good communication and presentation skill.

EDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

  • University degree from relevant field of study or equivalent experience is preferable or other graduate with relevant working experience.

  • Having relevant Trainer Certification / Equivalent is encouraged.
