You, as a ‘Senior Manager – cybersecurity’ will lead and enhance cybersecurity capabilities across RTX business units. In this role, you will provide regional leadership by deploying global cybersecurity strategies while ensuring strict compliance with complex local and international regulatory, safety, and resilience requirements.
This position requires a blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and governance skills, underpinned by effective people leadership and stakeholder engagement. As a tactical and operational leader, you will translate global strategy into local execution. Reporting directly to the Cyber & Compliance Leader, you will drive regional compliance initiatives while providing strategic direction and mentorship to a growing team of managers and individual contributors.
You are expected to follow a hybrid work model, balancing remote and on-site presence based on business needs, key meetings, critical milestones, team collaboration needs, audits or other site-specific requirements.
What will you do
Lead and mature enterprise cybersecurity capabilities across assigned business units, aligning regional execution with the global cybersecurity strategy.
Translate functional cybersecurity strategy into short- to medium-term tactical and operational plans with measurable outcomes.
Enhance cybersecurity processes, standards, and operating models to support business objectives and regulatory obligations.
Ensure immediate and sustained compliance with applicable regional and local cybersecurity, privacy, safety, and resilience mandates.
Provide oversight, coaching, and strategic direction to managers and experienced cybersecurity professionals.
Influence and collaborate with stakeholders across cyber and non-cyber functions, including Privacy, Global Trade, HR, Finance, IT, and Operations.
Act as a key regional escalation point for cybersecurity incidents, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
Contribute to resource planning, hiring, performance management, promotions, and reward decisions within the cybersecurity organization.
Develop and implement new or improved operational plans, processes, and standards to strengthen cybersecurity resilience and effectiveness.
Represent cybersecurity in business discussions, ensuring security-by-design principles are embedded into programs, systems, and services.
Collaborate with local stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Safety, Quality) & leaders to understand their viewpoints and work on improvement plans
Qualifications you must have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
Experience in managing high performing cyber teams of senior cyber professionals, cyber managers and/or leading cybersecurity operations
Strong working knowledge of security frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SP800-171, SP800-53), CMMC, DPDP Act, SCOMET etc.
Demonstrated experience operating in highly regulated environments with strong compliance, audit, and resilience expectations.
Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity domains, including:
Cyber risk management
Cyber architecture and engineering
Identity and access management
Incident response and crisis management
Governance, risk, and compliance (GRC)
SAP Application & Infrastructure Security
Proven ability to influence policies, practices, and procedures beyond direct reporting lines.
Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Certifications (one or more): CISSP, CISM, CISA or equivalent
Demonstrate experience applying Agile, Scrum, or Kanban and know how to run a "Cyber Sprint" and manage backlogs
Qualifications we prefer
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure).
Prior experience working in environments with safety-critical, regulated, or business continuity–driven requirements.
Experience partnering with internal audit, regulators, or external assessors.
