You’ll prepare meal trays, put together accurate patient orders, and deliver meals with warmth and compassion. Your work ensures patients feel supported and cared for during their stay.
What We’re Looking For
Our ideal Patient Host is:
Friendly, patient-focused, and customer-service oriented
Organized, detail-driven, and able to follow meal guidelines
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
A clear communicator who enjoys helping others
A team player who can also work independently
Skilled in following menus, diet orders, and written instructions
Experienced in healthcare or food service (preferred)
Willing to obtain Food Handler or ServSafe certification within 6 months
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll be a key part of the patient dining experience. Daily tasks include:
Preparing accurate patient meal trays based on diet orders
Reviewing menus, selections, and restrictions for each patient
Working the trayline to assemble and check meals quickly and accurately
Delivering trays to patient rooms with professionalism and compassion
Providing friendly, helpful communication with patients and nursing staff
Collecting used trays and returning them to the kitchen
Maintaining cleanliness and organization at your workstation
Practicing proper food safety and sanitation procedures
Supporting kitchen and prep teams as needed
Every tray you assemble and deliver helps ensure patients receive safe, timely, and nourishing meals—brightening their experience and supporting their recovery.
