Job Description:
The Consultant, Defense Engineering & Email Protection Analysis candidate will perform daily tasks relating to email protection and monitoring Defense engineering tools and Lab environment.


This role requires a working knowledge of current and emerging security threats, email protection, industry trends, counter measures, and best practices, as well as the ability to effectively communicate this knowledge to a non-technical audience as part of the Email Protection Analysis program of TransUnion. This role is also responsible for assisting with implementing email protection strategies for the organization as a whole in accordance with defined strategies and objectives.

What You'll Bring:

·       Provide support for the established goals of the Email Protection Analysis program

·       Conduct assessments and investigations to identify and evaluate email threats

·       Develop and distribute remediation techniques and guidance for email threats

·       Aid in implementing innovative solutions, modifications, and enhancements to the Email Protection Analysis program based upon current cybersecurity threats and trends

·       Analyze email threats to TransUnion and advise on protection strategies
Conduct hunts for undetected malicious email activity within the environment

·       Utilize email honeypots

·       Develop and implement custom email protections as necessary

·       Produce regular reporting on observed email trends and correlating defensive measures

·       Consult and partner with corporate communications, technical, business, and security teams as applicable

·       Manage and monitor the Defense lab environment, Sandbox Environment and MISP Environment.

·       Manage and monitor VT License usage limits

·       Coordinate or perform administrative functions as necessary to perform email protection tasks

Impact You'll Make:

Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:
• Advanced email analysis experience including phishing, malware, business email compromise, and impersonation
• Three or more years of work experience in a related field such as cybersecurity, information security, computer science, or email administration
• Advanced knowledge of email protection and authentication protocols and mechanisms
• Experience monitoring the cyber security threat landscape
• Ability to navigate diverse perspectives and promote an inclusive and collaborative environment
• Ability to work with technical subject matter experts and apply protective measures in a corporate environment
• Desire to learn and grow email security knowledge and skills

o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Ability to self-direct and manage work queue

• Previous experience
o Email protection development and implementation
o Threat Intelligence analysis, production, and dissemination
o Email analysis in a cybersecurity role

• Education
o Cybersecurity, information technology or similar degree or certification(s) preferred

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
