Overview:

Responsible for the collection of assigned past due loan and lease accounts generally under 60 days past due via phone and/or email.  Works with the customer, dealer and/or internally to determine the root cause of the issue to be able to resolve the situation.                    

Primary Responsibilities:

• Contact delinquent loan and lease customers via phone and/or email to determine root cause of delinquency and resolve delinquent workout cases to secure payments or minimize loss.           
• Work with customer and/or other cross-functional teams to resolve delinquent contracts resulting from administrative issues. 
• Ensure management awareness of accounts where timely payment will not be made to ensure appropriate action may be undertaken depending on the specific case.   
• Use credit bureau data, post office information, internet searches and other tools to locate customers who have moved or changed phone numbers.   
• Research and resolve billing-related customer issues and complaints.         
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Minimum of 3 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years’ customer service, collections and/or related experience

Proven verbal and written communication skills       

Proficiency with personal computer skills, as well as pertinent spreadsheet, word processing and email software                     

Education and Experience Preferred:

Minimum of 2 years’ commercial equipment leasing and finance collections experience   

Work experience in an office environment
