Your contribution

In the role of Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing strategies, commercial terms and cost saving initiatives within your categories.

This role also includes project purchasing, which means you will have close collaboration with several R&D departments within the company, in addition to purchasing and project managers.

The company's platforms have a lifespan of around ten years; therefore, it is important as a buyer to understand the suppliers' long-term technical competitiveness.

Travel is included in the job but can be planned in advance.

Category manager responsible for hardware- and software related external activities and commercial terms for all new projects developed by the Handheld R&D, Fixed R&D and Surveillance R&D organization.
Responsible for the cross functional Category Teams with full responsibility for todays and coming supplier base within selected categories and act as escalation interface to the production in Sweden and Estonia. A key part of this role is to support with project sourcing activities within NPI enabling product launches.
 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive Category Management Teams and set strategic plan
• Coordinate sourcing activities with multiple sites globally (Sweden, Taiwan, Estonia, Belgium)
• Support Handheld, Fixed Solution and Surveillance R&D organization within selected categories
• Responsibility for supplier selection securing that we have the right supplier base for future products aligned with the product roadmap within the category
• Drive productivity and cost savings globally from a category perspective
• Responsible for category specific material escalations from the production in Sweden and Estonia
• Drive together with purchase, Supplier performance development
• Drive supplier sustainability improvements within selected categories

To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have  

• Experience from a strategic sourcing/procurement role
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• International experience and working with different cultures
• SAP knowledge
• Experience in IVALUA platform is positive but not mandatory (S2C & P2P)
• Experience working with SW suppliers is a plus
• Fluent in English and Swedish, both verbal and written
