Northrop Grumman, Space Systems is currently seeking Engineering Technicians to join our team. This position will be supporting our Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in our Kennedy Space Center, FL office.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Engineering Technician performs hands on activities/tasks associated with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal protection systems application, assembly, and check-out operations. Knowledge of coating removal, critical coating application, and pneumatic tooling operations is also desired. Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost, and scheduling of their team. Candidate must be well organized and able to follow and execute computer-based shop assembly instructions.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of relevant experience in aerospace, aviation hardware processing or related field.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 years of relevant experience in aerospace, aviation hardware processing or related field.
Skills:
• General understanding of electronic work instruction systems (MAXIMO, Solumina).
• Proficiency with hands-on mechanical assembly, thermal protection material application, protective finish removal processes and paint application of metal structures.
• Ability to read, understand engineering drawings and schematics.
• Capability to understand and follow electronic work instruction documents.
• Proficient with manual and power tools.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversite; flexible and adaptable to varying work scope and tasks.
• Strives for excellence in workmanship and defect-free products.
• Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office.
