The Deep Tech Architecture (DTA) group is seeking a motivated, experienced Biomedical Engineer Intern to support our Innovation Center and Corporate Incubation Labs (Analog Garage). The Analog Garage mission is to empower ADI by pioneering breakthrough technologies. The DTA group is applying world-class circuit and device design, and nano-scale fabrication to develop long-term solutions to big societal problems. You will join the team which is leveraging proven and mature semiconductor technologies to solve challenging problems in biology and human health.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Lead the development of cell-based assays with novel technologies by applying 1 or more of the following:
Conduct research in biological assays and propose novel methods to solve experimental challenges.
Maintain cell culture lines which includes thawing, expanding, harvesting and freezing.
Preparation of cell culture media using aseptic techniques.
Development and documentation of SOP for new cell lines.
Assist in cell-based assays using plate-reader and fluorescence microscopy.
Assist in microfluidic experiments including but not limited to PDMS molding, plasma bonding and chip dicing.
Assist in electrical measurement using source-measurement unit.
Data analysis and preparation of report from experiments.
Travel between our sites in the Boston area (Biolab in Woburn, MA, Global Headquarters in Wilmington, MA, and Innovation Lab in Downtown Boston, MA).
Minimum qualifications
PhD candidate in Biological Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology or a related technical field.
Demonstrated expertise in cell culture techniques for mammalian cell or primary cell.
Strong aseptic techniques for maintaining sterile cell cultures.
Attention to detail, self-motivated and enthusiastic to learn new concepts.
Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with CHO, HEK or neuronal cell culture.
Experience with electrophysiology.
Experience with flow focused microfluidic or digital microfluidic systems, hands on experience preferred.
Experience with electronic instrumentation.
Experience with microfabrication.
