About the Role

Comply with import/export regulations, handles tariff classifications, processes documentation, and liaises with customs authorities. They analyze and apply trade laws, manage customs data, and support internal audits, ensuring accurate and efficient international trade operations for the organization

What You Will Do

1. Manage and ensure compliance with IMMEX program regulations.

2. FTA analyze & apply the benefits of the Free Trade Agreement.

3.  Accurate HTS classification of goods for customs purposes.

4. Efficient processing of Record Keeping import/export documents.

5. Monitor and control fixed assets in accordance with regulations.

6. Communicate and coordinate with customs and regulatory authorities.

What You Have – Skills and Experiences

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Mexican customs laws and international trade regulations.
  • Proficiency in managing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) documentation is essential.
  • Reporting and presentations skills with internal and external customers.
  • Analytical skills are needed to conduct detailed internal audits and identify potential compliance issues.
  • Communication skills are critical for effectively liaising with customs authorities and training staff on compliance procedures.
  • Attention to detail is crucial for ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Problem-solving abilities are required to resolve compliance matters swiftly and efficiently.
  • Analytical skills to identify root cause issues and implement proper corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of customs software (Anexo 24 -30, Pediment empresarial) and databases enhances operational efficiency.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is required for handling international communications.
  • The ability to stay updated with evolving regulations is vital for maintaining compliance. Professional certifications in customs or international trade compliance are advantageous.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree: In international trade, law, business administration or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in customs compliance, international trade law or related field.
  • Knowledge: Fixed Assets, Record Keeping, OEA/CTPAT, Annex 24-30, Customs Audits, PROSEC, CO, Regla 8va, Formalities with Ministry of Economy such as Mill/Quality Certificates, SAT Audits, IMMEX, VAT Certification.
  • Legal knowledge: Understanding of Mexican customs laws and international trade regulations.
  • FTA Knowledge: Free Trade Agreement (FTA) documentation and compliance.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct detailed audits and identify compliance issues.
  • Communication Skills: Verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with government agencies and training employees.
  • Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in processing paperwork and following procedures.
  • Problem Solving Ability: Effective in resolving compliance matters and avoiding fines.
  • Software proficiency: Experience with customs software and databases. Such as annex 24-30, pediments empresarial or similar
  • Bilingual: Fluency in Spanish and English to manage international communications and documentation.
