Position Summary:

The Network Control Analyst is responsible for supporting and monitoring network connectivity, workflows and projects aimed at improving the efficiency and growth of athenahealth’s interoperability network or ‘backbone’. This network supports the connectivity of various healthcare data including lab results, imaging results, patient demographics, charges, appointments, and prescriptions between athena, clients and trading partners. The Network Control Analyst will maintain relationships with interface vendors and work on technical tasks as assigned and will actively collaborate with internal teams across different geographies including Network Operation center, Interface product and development teams within athena as and when required. This position reports directly to the Network Control/ Interface Operations Manager/Associate Manager in Chennai. 

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting VPN, FTP, WEBSERVICES, SSO, API Integrations
  • Utilize technical tools such as weblog, Kibana, Splunk, Grafana to quickly find resolutions to urgent issues and autonomously execute necessary updates, decisions and or changes for our clients
  • Resolve client and vendor issues via CRM through information gathering, documentation research and cross-functional collaboration within athena teams.
  • Build relationship and communicate with our clients and vendors through calls, emails, and Salesforce to understand the full scope of reported issues and provide accurate resolutions
  • Work on critical connectivity tasks and maintain priorities
  • Ability to manage problems through entire lifecycle from identification through resolution
  • Take ownership and responsibility for the critical work that our team manages, driving towards our team goals
  • Other duties as assigned by the Interface Operations Manager are necessary to help optimize and expand operations.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Graduate in engineering, science, or commerce stream  
  • 1-3 years of technical/healthcare work experience  
  • Familiarity working with HL7 or similar interoperability standards, VPN, FTP, WEBSERVICES, SSO and API 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong problem solving and technical skills and an understanding of application in solving business problems 
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English  
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours for US support (Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night shift timings)  
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism to effectively manage communication with external parties over the calls including US lab and imaging vendors  
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment  
  • Flexibility to adapt to change in a rapidly expanding and fast paced company  
  • Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative environment
