Summary
As part of Workiva's Growth Solutions team, the Solution Development Consultant is at the forefront of defining new solutions on the Workiva platform. This role is focused on exploring new markets, ideating and iterating on a solution design, and defining the best practices for all selected new solutions or use cases on our platform. The Solution Development Consultant supports the process of incubating new solutions and use cases cross-functionally. Together with other global, internal teams including sales, solution engineering, product, technical solutions, marketing, and the services organization, the Solution Development Consultant is committed to developing best-in-class solutions on the Workiva platform.
What You’ll Do
Organizes, ideates, and iterates on Software Solution Architecture and utilizes existing and new Workiva platform functionality to develop new applications of our platform under the direction of our Senior Solution Development Consultants.
Proactively engages with Product Development teams -drafts requirements, iterates on new Workiva platform functionality, and conducts field tests with clients.
Produces documentation and training assets, enabling our internal services teams, external partners, and clients to implement new solutions with consistent quality.
Directly interfaces with our clients and partners to provide Delivery Oversight - support and enable our internal services teams as well as external partners to deliver new solutions to our clients.
Performs Services Delivery - acting as a (hands-on) lead on a selected number of implementation projects for the new solutions.
Engages in selected Pre-sales Engagements - work directly with prospects to field-test solution design and set accurate expectations about the delivery process.
Maintains and enhances knowledge of processes related to the solution in incubation through a commitment to ongoing self-guided or Workiva-provided training.
What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of experience in client-facing software implementation service delivery
2+ years of experience working with external implementation partners
Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience
ESG, Sustainability reporting
Carbon Accounting measuring and reporting
Enhanced technology knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace applications, and basic SQL. Familiarity with any of the following: JSON, REST, or Python is a plus
Have experience and knowledge of the GHG Protocol and related standards (e.g., Corporate Standard, Scope 2 Standard, Product Standard, Scope 3 Standard, etc.).
Be committed to learning new concepts and industry best practices within a fast-paced, high-performance consulting environment.
Have strong analytical, technical, and database management skills and be comfortable managing and analyzing large data sets with high attention to detail.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent presentation skills - ability to present topics clearly and succinctly to various audiences (internal and external)
Self-motivated with a strong propensity for action, results, and continuous improvement
Ability to influence and drive change in business processes
A strong individual contributor with intellectual curiosity to positively impact the ability to manage multiple initiatives
Demonstrated ability to curate and maintain customer-first relationships
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
15% travel for internal meetings
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $69,000.00 - $117,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package
