Job Summary:

The Senior Regional Engineer plays a key role in delivering comprehensive datacenter solutions, ensuring the successful execution of technical projects while effectively communicating progress against documented plans. This includes expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and Microsoft-based technologies to support a wide range of enterprise IT infrastructure needs. As a subject matter expert, this individual will provide advanced technical expertise within their area of specialization and may be responsible for setting the technical direction during the sales cycle and supporting solution design across multiple locations. This role involves delivering Advanced Services both remotely (via WebEx or similar platforms) and on-site as required. The Senior Regional Engineer will collaborate closely with Account Managers, Inside Sales Engineers (ISEs), Engagement Architects (EAs), Project Managers (PMs), and Solution Architects (SAs) to provide seamless service delivery. Given the dynamic nature of this role, strong time management and prioritization skills are essential to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously. Additionally, the Senior Regional Engineer will be responsible for handling ad hoc technical services for smaller projects, as well as stepping in to assist customers during critical situations, including outages, cybersecurity incidents, and other priority issues. This position reports directly to the VP of Engineering for the region. 

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoots and administers Windows Servers, On-Prem Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint.
  • Performs migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft 365 (Exchange, AD, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Assists clients with Azure deployments and migrations, ensuring seamless cloud transitions.
  • Provides foundational support for routing, switching, and firewall configurations, including basic network troubleshooting and integration with Microsoft and cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborates with Advanced Technology Group Leads to ensure standardized delivery documentation, solution proposals, and best practices for design and implementation.
  • Attends customer-facing project kickoff meetings and develops detailed project execution plans to drive successful outcomes.
  • Plans for succession and knowledge transfer within their area of technology expertise to ensure team readiness and scalability.
  • Maintains a billable utilization rate as agreed upon with the VP of Engineering.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

5 - 7 years of experience in Microsoft technologies including infrastructure migrations, upgrades, troubleshooting, implementation with experience in at least three of the following areas: 

  • Active Directory (AD Domain Services, GPOs, Azure AD Connect, CA, ADFS) 
  • Azure Active Directory / Hybrid Identity
  • Azure / M365 security, compliance and governance
  • Microsoft Azure Infrastructure (Azure VMs, networking, VPN, Storage)
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Teams, Apps for Enterprise)
  • Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022

Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience focused on Microsoft solutions

Associate degree from an accredited university required

Minimum of 1 Expert level Microsoft certification within technology discipline area

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working for an IT consulting organization

Previous experience delivering Microsoft technology solutions

Experience in building and delivering Professional Services

Oral, written communication and presentation skills with an ability to present technical issues to a technical audience 

Strong work experience with online productivity tools 

Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment 

Ability to approach customer and sales requests with a proactive and consultative manner; listen and understand user requests and needs and effectively deliver  

Comfortable managing multiple and changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment 

Motivated self-starter who loves to troubleshoot and solve challenging problems and feels comfortable working directly with customers 

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

$120,000$135,000 USD
