Global Mobility Program Manager, Tax

About the team and the role:

As the Global Mobility Program Manager, Tax you will work closely with internal team members and external partners to oversee tax planning and compliance for our mobile workforce. In this position you will take a leadership role in advising the business on tax standard processes and regulations using your depth of subject matter expertise, while solving complex cross border arrangements. You will assist in ensuring eBay is offering a competitive and compliant program and ensuring supplier partner accountability in the delivery of services. Reporting to the Director, Global Mobility you will be an integral part of the Total Rewards organization on the People Team.

What you will accomplish:

  • Manage the day-to-day relationship and interactions with our tax supplier partners, while driving a long-term strategic agenda for our global mobility tax program
  • Ensure compliance with our Tax Equalization program, including oversight of our global compensation collection process, hypothetical tax withholdings, shadow payrolls, annual authorization lists, tax payments and collection process
  • Stay abreast of US and global tax regulations that may impact eBay’s program, taking initiative to provide tax position recommendations and maintaining our Tax Equalization policy
  • Coordinate cost estimates and tax planning for international assignments with internal stakeholders (senior leaders, People Business Partners, Finance, Accounting, etc.)
  • Partner closely with Payroll, Equity and Corporate Tax teams, in addition to the broader Global Mobility and Total Rewards teams
  • Identify and drive process efficiencies and automation
  • Evaluate business travel tax compliance opportunities
  • Respond to tax related inquires and notices

What you will bring:

  • Global Mobility Tax professional with 8+ years of experience
  • Big 6 experience and/or CPA strongly preferred
  • Able to effectively consult, negotiate and resolve conflict with a variety of partners at all levels across eBay
  • Analytical problem solver, able to resolve complex challenges in a way that balances the needs of the business and employees while maintaining compliance
  • Strong vendor leadership skills
  • Effective communicator both verbally and in writing to audiences at all levels in the organization
  • High level of personal integrity and comfortable operating with ambiguity
  • Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
