Job purpose

The job purpose of a Quality Line Leader is to ensure that quality standards and processes are consistently maintained during production shifts. They oversee quality control activities, address issues promptly, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications during assigned shifts. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and tests to identify defects or deviations in product quality. Lead the quality control team, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and accurately. Provide training and guidance to team members on quality procedures, tools, and best practices. Identify root causes of quality issues and collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions. Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and company-specific quality requirements at all times. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of quality checks, test results, and any incidents for reporting and audits. Act as the primary contact for addressing quality-related concerns and communicating updates to relevant team members during shifts. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance quality processes and reduce defects. Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and insights into quality management practice

Typical daily/weekly activities

Daily Activities

Quality Monitoring

  • Perform routine inspections of production lines to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct random sampling and testing of products to verify quality.

Issue Resolution

  • Investigate and resolve quality issues or deviations identified during production.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions.

Documentation

  • Record inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions in quality logs.
  • Ensure all quality-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Prepare shift reports summarizing quality performance and issues.

Team Leadership

  • To guide quality control technicians or inspectors.
  • Provide on-the-job training to team members on quality standards and procedures.
  • Address team concerns and ensure adherence to safety and compliance protocols.

Collaboration

  • Attend daily or shift-based meetings to align on priorities and share feedback.

Audits and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards
  • Support internal or external audits by providing required documentation and insights.

Weekly Activities

Data Analysis

  • Review weekly quality performance data and trends.
  • Identify recurring issues and propose long-term solutions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) sessions for quality issues.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance quality.

Reporting

  • Prepare and submit detailed quality reports to Supervisor.
  • Highlight key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Collaboration with Quality managers or Supervisors

  • Meet with quality managers or supervisors to discuss strategic quality goals.
  • Align on upcoming audits, certifications, or process changes.

    Job Specifications

    • Experience – 3 year’s experience in manufacturing roles is typically required
    • Education – diploma or equivalent, Degree
