Tate & Lyle Global Shared Services Centre in Łódź is the principal location for handling the business support activities and processes for Tate & Lyle, both transactional as well as value-added business partnering support. Starting operations in 2011 with less than 50 people, we now have over 350 employees supporting operations globally. We have 30 teams operating in Łódź to provide service in the areas of Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, HR/People Services, and IS/IT

ROLE PURPOSE  

The R2R Trainee is responsible for supporting the financial reporting process by assisting in the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This entry-level role is designed to provide foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in accounting processes, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The R2R Trainee works under the guidance of more experienced accountants and focuses on less complex activities, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting process.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Complete R2R Month End Close Activities according to Month End Close Timetable (including journal entries calculation and posting, reconciliation and confirmation of monthly intercompany balances).
• Complete tasks in line with accounting policies, and procedures.
• Ensure appropriate business sense checks are in place.
• Prepare regular reports.
• Produce monthly control files to ensure all reconciliations are complete.
• Perform monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, assure proper follow-up.
• Adhere to performance metrics targets and support taking corrective actions to meet service level expectations.
• Assist with continuous improvements initiatives to systems and processes.
• Close collaboration with team members and internal stakeholders.
• Support with Internal and External Audit.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

• Performance against KPI (key performance indicators), such as accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency metrics.
• Compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Positive feedback from team members and internal stakeholders regarding the quality and timeliness of financial information.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Student (preferably  Finance, Accounting or Business-related Area) or completed basic Accountancy Course.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
• Previous internship or work experience in an accounting or finance role is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is advantageous.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

• Good understanding of accounting basics.
• Good command of English, both verbal and in writing
• Good MS Office skills.
• Fast learner with flexibility to change.
• Solution orientated with “can-do” attitude.
• Ability to work well under time pressure and agreed deadlines.
• Good teamwork and communication skills, collaborative attitude.
