How you will do it:

  • Manage the daily tasks of the shipping office team, aligning individual and team objectives with overall company goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for any outbound order escalations, coordinating with the
  • Customer Service Representatives (CSR) team and providing timely updates.
  • Identify and resolve shipping issues that affect performance metrics, collaborating with management to develop actionable game plans and effectively communicating these to the team.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of shipping office processes and order escalation procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent written communication skills to produce clear and descriptive emails to stakeholders regarding order statuses and escalations.
  • Ensure that team members are completing their work efficiently and effectively by monitoring progress and addressing any challenges that arise.
  • Train and mentor team members to foster independence and competence in their day-to-day tasks.
  • Adapt quickly to unexpected challenges, ensuring the team can effectively respond to surprises and maintain productivity.
  • Coordinate with CSR, outbound, and shipping teams to resolve escalations and ensure smooth operations.
  • Utilize Visio to create flow charts and visual representations of workflow processes, enhancing team understanding and efficiency.
  • Promote innovative thinking and a lean mindset within the team, encouraging process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate effectively across functional teams to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

What we look for:

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and remain flexible when handling new tasks and responsibilities within the workspace.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and industry best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of logistics and experience in handling order escalations.
  • Familiarity with warehouse shop floor operations is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work on-site and maintain a positive, proactive attitude

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school/GED, or 3+ years of experience in leading a team from previous jobs. Any additional industry-related technical school or college degrees will be considered favorable

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), as well as internet software, MS Visio and E-mail is required along with experience in both MAPICS and LAWSON ERP systems.

The environment is 60% office and 40% in the warehouse. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
