Northrop Grumman Space Systems has a Part-Time opening for an Associate Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

The salary range is based on a full-time schedule and will be prorated to the extent the schedule is reduced.

This position will be located in Morrisville, NC.

The selected candidate will assist with network topology design, development, deployment, and documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop engineering and automated deployments for network configurations.

  • Emulate network topologies and test various configurations

  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented procedures.

  • Implement engineering changes to the system as required

  • Responsible for integrating and testing software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systems.

  • Work closely with Engineers and Technicians in a lab environment.

  • Good planning, coordination, and documentation skills are required.

  • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Network Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.

  • Experience in or knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as Python

  • Experience with deploying, configuring, and hardening Network Devices

  • Working knowledge of routing & switching concepts and protocols

  • Familiarity with network simulation tools and load testing (e.g. EVE-NG, GNS3)

  • No clearance required to start. Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Networking certifications will be considered

  • Solid programming skills in Python

  • Familiarity with Ansible and/or Terraform

  • Familiarity with multiple topologies, network configurations, and routing protocols

  • Familiar with Agile methodology

  • Familiar with version control, GIT experience preferred

  • Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Salary Range: $59,600.00 - $89,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
