St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) is a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.

We have exciting opportunities available for experienced and reliable Food Services Assistants to join our fun and dynamic Food Services Team on a casual basis across all four sites.

The Food Services Assistant will provide meals and hot drinks to the patients of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne. They will prepare, deliver, collect, and clean meal trays and hot drinks and assist in the preparation of sandwiches and desserts. This position can be based within the kitchen or on the wards. There are a number of Food Service Assistants who are each allocated different roles for the shift


Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to);

  • To prepare trays for meals to patients
  • To clean, wash and store, dishes, cutlery and trays
  • To deliver meals, between meals and beverages to patients
  • To clean work area after food preparation
  • To re-stock pantry and tea rooms areas as needed

The successful candidate will have;

  • Food handlers certificate
  • Excellent customer service
  • Good oral & written communication skills
  • Adaptability to perform various skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail, ability to perform tasks to a consistently high standard
